Omar came on as a Field Service Engineer after completing AME's 2022 Summer Internship Program. While completing his undergrad at FIU, Omar was involved in numerous projects including developing a program that could comprehend and yield temperature and wind speed values and constructing a machine that would assist miners in the extraction and separation of gold without the use of mercury. We're excited to have in on board!
Before joining AME as a Field Service Technician, Justin served in the Navy and has over ten years of experience in the maritime industry. He is specialized in naval policies and submarine operations - a diverse and great addition to the AME Team!
Industrial Project
A local south Florida water treatment facility ordered new pumps/piping. Its original fabricator’s deliverables were significantly off from the pump manufacturer’s drawings. Our customer, the new fabrication company, hired to make corrections to the piping, requested our assistance to survey their corrections and verify dimensions matched the manufacturer’s drawings.
A 225m tanker wiped a stern tube bearing due to an engine misalignment. The solution was to line bore the stern tube. AME was called to align the boring bar supports approximately 1mm high off the shaft center line on both forward and aft stern tube bearing bores. To complete this job, we used our brand-new FARO Technologies laser, nicknamed Zodiac!
In October, the AME team attended Junior Achievement of South Florida’s Community Impact Breakfast. JA welcomed new storefronts, recognized 2022 impact honorees, and celebrated partnerships to kick off the new school year.
AME rang in the holidays with MIASF, USSA, YPYISS, and IYBA at their annual Holiday Party!

Christmas-colored droplets hint at solutions for fog harvesting
This image looks like a festive, holiday-inspired necklace. But it’s actually colorful water droplets clinging to a wire. Because the wire is engineered to attract water, the droplets glide along the line, eventually merging.
Led by Northwestern University’s Kyoo-Chul Kenneth Park, this new research is not just beautiful. It also could help optimize many environmental processes, including collecting fog from the atmosphere for drinking water.
We eliminate guesswork with our new FARO Laser, named Zodiac.
Using 3D geometric measurements, we can verify flatness, straightness, plumpness, OEM parameters, etc.
One significant benefit is that the laser allows machinery alignment measurements even if you can’t rotate the shafts. With the FARO, we confidently capture and provide results to our customers faster.
